For the last 85 years the ever increasing population of the United Kingdom has been perpetually lied to and fed a steady stream of draconian and uneducated “facts”. For too long has this country blindly accepted whatever we have been told be our leaders. We’ve openly accepted the reduction of our basic freedom of choice as educated cognitive human beings.
In 1928 we were told that cannabis would made a scheduled substance based on the telling Egyptian delegate at an international drugs conference in Geneva, this delegate told us that cannabis was “as dangerous as opium”.
And so the factory of lies, fear and hysteria based on nothing other than a few men’s whims began. This has continued ever since.
Lies and deceptions for the “good of the nation” have gone to far. It’s time things changed in our country.
America has shown us that it can be done. If a country that houses 25% of the worlds incarcerated inmates can make an forward thinking and compassionate change, albeit a small change, then we can do the same here at home. This is what we aim to achieve.
My name is Tim Oates and I’ve had enough. I’ve had enough of being told I’m a criminal for doing something that hurts no one. I’ve had enough of constantly running the risk of being arrested and given a criminal record. I’ve had enough of reading lies that I know the majority will accept as truth because of who said it, despite having absolutely no authority on the subject.
I’ve been trying to educate as many people as I can on the truths and benefits of cannabis, this is what I want to continue to do in film.
We want to make a film that has an all round view on cannabis and the subsequent problems branching off this hotly debated topic. Our plan is to make a film can be a tool in this battle for sensible reform. We intend to focus on the situation with cannabis within this country as well as the effects the war on drugs has had on our country, our economy and most importantly our people.
It is our hope that this film will be something that can be watched by anyone and still leave a lasting message. The aim is not to sing songs of praise to cannabis but to educate and inform.
We like to think of ourselves as a first world nation. A sophisticated land with a population of sensible, forward thinking people. It’s time to start acting like it.
We’re currently undergoing extensive planning and researching for the film this includes careful deliberation of who we interview, talk to and generally include in the film. I implore anyone with a story to be told or a voice to be heard to come forward and help us in anyway you can.
This film isn’t for anyone if not the British people. Help us make this a reality.
